Question
An LC circuit consists of a capacitor, C = 3.52 ?F, and an inductor, L = 4.22 mH. The capacitor is fully charged using a battery and then connected to the inductor. An oscilloscope is used to measure the frequency of the oscillations in the circuit. Next, the circuit is opened, and a resistor, R, is inserted in series with the inductor and the capacitor. The capacitor is again fully charged using the same battery and then connected to the circuit. The angular frequency of the damped oscillations in the RLC circuit is found to be 15.5% less than the angular frequency of the oscillations in the LC circuit.Explanation / Answer
1/(LC) - w'^2 = R^2/4L^2 w' = .845w w = 1/(LC)^(1/2) 1/(LC) - 0.714025/(LC) = R^2/4L^2 0.285975*L/C = R^2 0.0012068145/C = R^2 I don't know what the actual answer is though because ?F is not a unit. Plug in the appropriate Capacitance and you will get the answer
