Question

The currents are flowing in the direction indicated by the arrows. A negative current denotes flow opposite to the direction of the arrow. Find the current through the 15.5 ohm, resistor and the 6.l V battery at the top of the circuit Answer in units of A Find the current through the 22.6 ohm resistor in the center of the circuit. Answer in units of A Find the current through the 19.2 V battery At the bottom of the circuit.

Explanation / Answer

since all the three branches are in parallel we have the same potential across all the branches => the current through the 22.6 Ohm resistor is 19.2/22.6 = 0.8496 A the current trough the 15.5 Ohm resistor is i = (19.2+6.1)/15.5 = 1.632 A => the current through the 19.2 V battery is i1+i2 = 2.481 A
