Question

ntithe solenoid changes at a rate of 9A/s A conucting loop the center of the solenoid with its asis the same as that of the 0 turns. The 0 05 m and 15-1 of radius o 02 m is placed at 14a) What is the induced ent in the loop sokend (14b) What is the self induced emt in the solenoid due to the changing current 15 (RLC Series Circuit) Suppose an AC generator with Vi)-(150 V) sin (100 1) is connected to a series RLC circuit with R-40 O,L-80 mH, and ?.500yF, as shown in the Figure. o-Fosinor (15a) Find the inductive reactance, capacitive reactance and the impedance of the circuit (1Sb) Find the corresponding maximum current amplitude lo (1Sc) Find the phase angle between the voltage and the current in an AC circuit

Explanation / Answer

14)Invisible

15)Given,

V(t) = 140 V sin(100 t) ; R = 40 ohm ; L = 80 mH ; C = 50 uF ;

Max voltage = V = 140 V ; w = 100

a)We know that

XL = w L = 100 x 80 x 10^-3 = 8 Ohm

Xc = 1/wC = 1/100 x 50 x 10^-6 = 200 Ohm

Z = sqrt (R^2 + (XL - Xc)^2)

Z = sqrt [40^2 + (8 - 200)^2] = 196.122 Ohm

Hence, Xl = 8 Ohm ; Xc = 200 Ohm and Z = 196.122 Ohm

b)We know that

I = V/Z = 140/196.122 = 0.714 A

Hence, I = 0.714 A

c)phi = tan^-1[(Xl - Xc)/R]

phi = tan^-1[(8 - 200)/40] = -78.2 deg

Hence, phi = -78.2 deg
