Question

Question 1 The figure provided, a loop of copper wire is moved between two permanent magnets. What force, if any, will the copper wire experience? O The copper wire will not experience any magnetic force. The copper wire will experience a repulsive magnetic force. The copper wire will experience an attractive magnetic force. Question 2 In the figure provided, a magnetic field is decreasing. What is the direction of the current in the loop of wire? Clockwise Counterclockwise There is no current in the loop of the wire

Explanation / Answer

The copper wire will experience a repulsive magnetic force i.e Option B is correct

Explantion

When a loop of copper wire is b/w two permanent magnets the magnetic flux linked the loop increases. From Lenz's law the induced field will be in the direction such that it opposes the change in flux.So southpole will be induced on the copper wire towards the south pole of the magnet and north towards the north pole of the magnet.

Hence the copper wire will experience the repulsive magnetic force.
