Question

0 itrdep-18127233 The figure below shows a graph of vs versus t for the motion of a motorcyclist as he starts from rest and moves along the road in a straight line. 10 241) (a) Find the average acceleration for the time interval t0 to t m/s2 6.0 s. (b) Estimate the time at which the acceleration has its greatest positive value. What is the value of the acceleration at that instant? (e) When is the acceleration zero? Acceleration is zero when t s and when t> (d) Estimate the maximum negative value of the acceleration. At what time does it occur? Need Help? Rendit

Explanation / Answer

Generally speaking the Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity (I.e A=V/t)

a) So, we have to calculate average acceleration for the defined interval t=0-6s

In that period of time the movement of motorcycle is change of velocity from 0-6 is 8m/s

A=8-0/6-0=4/3m/s2

b) The Greatest acceleration will be defined at a particular point of time when t=6s the acceleration reaches to maximum value

c) Acceleration is zero when v=0v and t=0s and t>10 as it maintains constant value.

d) It reaches to negative value when it is going towards height not in straight line as it is against to gravitational force (a=-g).
