Explanation / Answer

A) Wolves Population: Trend- After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone wolves population increased upto certain limit and now it is decreasing from 2007 to 2010.

Hypothesis: Increase in wolves Population is limited by certain factors.

B) Elk Population: Trend- After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone Elk population showed decreasing trend Hypothesis: Decrease in Elk Population is due to increase in wolves’ population as elk are eaten by reintroduced wolves.

C) Browsing

Trend: After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone Percent of browsing is decreasing continuously.

Hypothesis: Percentage of browsing is decreasing as numbers of Elk are decreasing because they are eaten by reintroduced wolves.

D) Aspen height

Trend: After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone Aspen height is showing increasing trend continuously in uplands and riparian.

Hypothesis: Aspen height is increasing as there is reduction in browsing as Elk population is decreasing because they are eaten by reintroduced wolves.

E) Cottonwood

Trend: After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone Number of cottonwood tress are increasing.

Hypothesis: Increased number of cottonwood tress is due to reduced browsing of Elk population as elk population is decreasing because elks are eaten by reintroduced wolves.

F) Willow

Trend: After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone ring area of Willow showed increasing trend

Hypothesis: Increased ring area of Willow is related to number of cottonwood tress

G) Beaver

Trend: After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone Number of Beaver colonies are increasing

Hypothesis: Beaver colonies increased as there is increase in number and height of tress.

H) Bison

Trend: After reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone Bison count is increasing

Hypothesis: Bison count is increasing because their completion with elks is less as elks are eaten by reintroduced wolves.
