Distance between two genes = ((Number of Single cross over + number of double cross over)/ total number of progeny)*100

Distance between Y and P = (101 + 96 + 1+ 2)/ 1000 *100 = 20 mapunit

Distance between P and B = (47 + 50 + 1+ 2)/1000*100 = 10 mapunit

Expected DCO = (0.20*0.10*1000) = 20

Interference = 1 - (Observed DCO/ Expected DCO)

Interference = 1-(3/20) = 0.85

Coefficient of coincidence = 1 - interference

Coefficient of coincidence = 1 - 0.85 = 0.15
