Answer
Sperm Capacitation: The ability of a sperm to fertilise the egg is called Sperm Capacitation. In this process sperm undergo many changes.
Acrosome membrane deformed to fused with the egg membrane for the transfer of male genetic material to the egg. The presence of Cholesterol and phospholipid in the membrane play major role. Cholesterol moves from acrosome membrane to the soluble protein and increase the fluidity of the membrane and destabilise them, which help in penetrating the egg out membrane. This also increase the mobility of the tail of the sperm.
