Virulence in AIDS can be seen as untreated asymptomatic infection. With the onset of virulence there occurs progression from opportunity-infection to AIDS. When this happens there is noted depletion of CD4+ T cells, which compromises immunity and led to onset of disease.
In terms of virulence, bacteria multiply exponentially and release toxins which destroys the immune cells and compromise the immune response of the body.
Antibiotic overuse leads to horizontal transfer of antibiotic resistant gene across the bacteria population which makes the bacteria and their future generation resistant to antibiotics.
