Question
<p>Q1) A) A car accelerates from 17 m s-1 to 31 m s-1 with a uniform acceleration of 2.5 m s-2. Calculate the displacement of the car during the acceleration.</p><p>(2) A fireworks rocket has a mass of 560 g and its initial acceleration is 6.0 m s-2 when launched vertically upwards.<br />(i) Calculate the magnitude of the initial thrust of the rocket.</p>
<p>(ii) Calculate the initial acceleration of the rocket when launched horizontally.</p>
Explanation / Answer
(1) v2 = u2 - 2as
s = 134.4 m
(2)thrust force = 0.560*(9.8+6) = 8.848 N
(3)acceleration = 15.8 m/sec2
