Question

I am working on physics electromagnetic induction. I am prepapring for an experiment tomorrow. We will be moving a magnetic bar toward the coil and away from the coil. Then we will have a graph of voltage vs time. Here are the questions:
1. what the areas under the curve of voltage vs time represents? Writing "True" in appropriate opitions following:
Induced current, induced voltage, magnetic flux, or change in magnetic flux.

2. if the magnitude of areas under the curve are approcimately equal, explain why, and if they aren't, why?
3. WHy do both curves one have portion above the horizontal and one under horizontal?

Explanation / Answer

1. C 2. IT EXPLAINS THAT the magnetic flux is the same in both the cases in magnitude but opposite in direction. 3. because the the direction of magnetic flux is opposite , when the magnet approaches the coil, say direction is positive then when magnet moves away from coil magnetic flux direction reverses.
