1.      HPV (Human Papillomavirus)- Human papillomavirus is the most common sexually transmitted infection. Everyone is being exposed to its one in life time. It can be spread through anal, vaginal or oral sex. It can transmit from mother to infant during birth. Diagnosis can be done visually by looking at warts or lesions but further DNA based tests can be done for conformation.

Chlamydia can be spread during vaginal, anal, or oral sex, and can be passed from mother to her baby during birth. PCR (polymerase chain reaction) based testing can be done for conformation testing.

3. Gonorrhea: It is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae (bacteria).

Spreads by sexual contact with infected person and can also transmits from mother to child during birth. It can be diagnosed by gram stating and nucleic acid based detection systems (PCR).

Preventive measures against STDs:

1.      Avoid unproductive sex with any unknown person who may or may not be infective.

2.      Report symptoms to the doctor immediately without avoiding it.

3.      If infected take proper medication.

4.      Take vaccination if available.

5.      Educating children who are going to enter in reproductive phases.

Preventive measures will not be same for teenagers and adults as teenagers will not be able to understand few of above, so proper instruction should be given while educating teenagers.
