Question
Hello guys.
Am asking this for the third time. i didn't get any helpful answer in the first two answers , one of them was my bad , it was not clear, the other one i couldnt read his font at all. SO PLEASE , if u want to help , am thankful , and please write it neatly in here. if you want to solve it on a paper , i dont mind too , but PLEASE , take a clear picture of it ! thank you so much !!
so we have 3 blocks , W , W1 and W2 . their masses are 100 N , 500 N and 250 N respectively. y is given to be 0.4 m, and l is giving to be 1 m . what is Xeq ?
Thank you
Explanation / Answer
balancing force on middle block,W along horizontal direction
(1- Xeq)/Xeq = W1/W2
we can see that Xeq = (W2/W1) * (1 - Xeq)
= solving for Xeq = 1/3 m
see : this problem is solved anaytically. you can see that as increasing W1 , Xeq will be getting shorter and this will be proportional to weight ratio.
now let W2 = 0 block will totally slide towrds W1, so Xeq = 0
as , Xeq * W1 = (1- Xeq) * W2
for W2 = 0 -----> Xeq
