Question

Which of the following lists events in the correct order?

Question 7 options:

Eukaryotes evolve, chickens evolve, eggs evolve

Prokaryotes evolve, eukaryotes evolve, animals evolve, humans evolve

Prokaryotes evolve, animals evolve, eukaryotes evolve, humans evolve

Eukaryotes evolve, chloroplasts develop, mitochondria develop

Eukaryotes evolve, chickens evolve, eggs evolve

Prokaryotes evolve, eukaryotes evolve, animals evolve, humans evolve

Prokaryotes evolve, animals evolve, eukaryotes evolve, humans evolve

Eukaryotes evolve, chloroplasts develop, mitochondria develop

Explanation / Answer

The most primitive form of life are prokaryotes. They lack a distinct nucleus, that is genome is without any nuclear membrane.

After this, the eukaryotes were evolved with a distinct nucleus.

Animals are eukaryotic organisms having multicellular level of organisation. This iplies to evolution of animals from eukaryotes.

Humans are mammals or primates which were evolved after several phyla of animals were evolved. Therefore humans were evolved after animals were formed because humans belong to phylum chordates of animal kingdom.

So the correct sequence is mention in option 2., that is,

Prokaryotes evolve, eukaryotes evolve, animals evolve, humans evolve.

4th option is incorrect because eukaryotic cells have membrane bound organelles. So formation of chloroplast and mitochondria cannot happen before eukaryote formation. They must have formed before eukaryotes were formed.
