2) The statement, " The chance of a person acquiring STI increases significantly with the number of his or her sexual partners." The above statement is completely true. The best suited and disease free relationship is a MONOGAMOUS RELATIONSHIP which means that both the partners are involved in sexual relation only with themselves and not outside. When you get involved in a sexual relationship with only one partner, and you are completely aware of his/her medical conditions then the risk of getting STI minimises. Two Sexually Transmitted Diseases that can be sexually or non sexually transmitted are as follows:
a) Herpes: Its a STD that can be transferred by both sexual and non sexual behaviour
b) Molloscum Contagiosom: Its also a STD which is most common in children and also seen in adults.
The non sexual modes of transmission of STDs are as follows:
a) Exchange of saliva among the partners
b) Skin to skin contact with the infected partner
c) Use of towels, combs and clothes of the infected person
d) Handshaking can also cause some Viral infection from an infected person.
3) There are different ways by which STIs can be avoided. Some of the effective ways are as follows:
a) Always try to get in a MONOGAMOUS RELATIONSHIP which means that only one sexual partner is there. If one get involves in sexual activities with multiple partners whose medical conditions are not known then the chances of getting an infection increases
b) Always using good quality of Contraceptives is very necessary and at the same time getting tested for various STDs from time to time is also required. nevertheless the above mentioned facts cannot give u 100 percent surity of not getting STD. You can be only 100 percent sure from STDs if you avoid sexual activities completely and all outside contacts.
4) If an individual is suffering from an STI, He/she should also be checked for other STIs. The reason behind this is that when an individual is suffering from an STI, he/she has a weakened immune system. The human body is more prone to diseases when it has a weakened immune system. For Eg: If a person is suffeing from an STD named Genital Warts, its more likely that he can also catch the STD names Herpes or HIV. So, its advisable to get tested for other diseases as well when you are infected with an STD.
5) No, a baby can never be effected with Cogenital Syphilis if its mother is never infected with Syphilis. Its a most important concern these days. So it is advisable for all the pregnant and lactating mothers to get a test done for syphilis before conceiving a baby. Once a child gets Congenital Syphilis it has to face severe issues in life like enlarged spleen, deformation of the bones and sometimes low mental health.
