Animal Behavior is the scientific study of the wild and wonderful methods in which animals interact with each other, with other organisms and with the surroundings. It explores how animals relate to their physical environment and other organisms. It includes topics such as how animals find and defend resources, avoid predators, choose mates, reproduce, and care for their young.
Animals are necessary to medical research, when it is impractical or unethical to use humans.
i) The study of animal behavior starts with understanding how the physiology and anatomy of animal are integrated with its behavior. Both external and internal stimuli punctual behaviors — external information such as threats from other animals, sounds, smells or weather and internal information such as hunger, fear.
ii) Understanding how genes and the surroundings come together to shape in animal behavior. It is an essential support of the field. Genes capture the evolutionary responses of earlier populations to selection on behavior. Environmental flexibility gives animals the opportunity to adjust to the modification during their own lifetime.
iii) Scientists have done the study of animal behavior for varied reasons. This field is extremely broad, ranging from research on feeding behavior and habitat selection to mating behavior and social organizations.
