If you do not agree then provide sup- porting evidence or reasoning as to why you think that have presented supported the wrong viewpoint. Remember to always keep your post cordial and pleasant. Explanation / Answer

Water diversion project lead to the water is diverted into an artificial water course or canal, which may be used for irrigation or return to the river after passing through hydroelectric generators, flow into a different river or be itself dammed forming a reservoir. For example, The California State Water Project, commonly known as the SWP, is a state watermanagement project in the U.S. state of California under the supervision of theCalifornia Department of Water Resources.

Water diversion is very useful for human beings. Through water diversion, we can bring waters to the regions like desrts which are dry and recieve less rainfall annually. Through this we can see greenery in deserts. Rivers are the source of fresh water. This fresh water can be use in irrigation by farmers or for drinking purposes. By, diverting the rivers we are able to minimise the loss of fresh water to oceans, because ultimately rivers end to oceans. Oceans contain salty water and this water is not useful to us. China opened an $80 billion mega tunnel to transfer water from the country's south to its parched north, it has quenched the thirst of its 100 million people. The 4,350-kilometer network of canals and tunnels, about the distance between the two coasts of America, conquered impossible wastewater challenges to pipe clean water along the route.
