(use above figures) We discussed the reason for the carrier drift velocity going down in value for high fields for GaAs and determined this to be due to the presence of the dip in the E Vs K plot along the 111 direction. However Silicon has a dip at ~ 2 eV as well but we don't see a similar dip in the drift velocity of silicon at similar values of the electric field. Why?
