The second ball has a radius of 4. 68 cm and is rolling along the stationary floor. If the second ball starts out 6. 44 m from the finish line, how long does each ball take to reach the finish line? What angular speed would the losing ball have needed to cross the finish line at the same time as the winning ball?Explanation / Answer
#1) speed is 2.19+23.7(.0613)=3.64281
t=8.57/3.64281
t=2.353 seconds
#2)speed is 13.8(.0468)=.64584
t=5.84/.64587
t=9.042 seconds
so we need to find the rad/s 2 needs to reach the finish line in 2.353 seconds
2.353=5.84/v
v=2.4824
=v/r=2.4824/(.0468)
=53.04 rad/s
