Question
(b) Find an expression for the peak output voltage Vout.
(c)At the resonant frequency of the LC oscillator, what is (i) the peak output voltage Vout,
and (ii) the peak current through the resistor IR? Why do you think this circuit is
preferred over the series LRC circuit that we studied in class for use in a radio receiver?
Part (a) is already done. just need b and c
Consider the circuit shown below. The input voltage is Vin = epsilon 0 cos wt. Assume that no current flows in to the voltmeter that is reading V out. (a) Show that the peak current through the resistor is given byExplanation / Answer
Please ask if you have any doubt.I will help you.
At resonance frequency the
impedance of the LC parallel combination or tank is infinite.
For output to be maximim the impedance of LC tank should be as high as possible.
b) Vout(peak) = Vin.
c) At resonance frequency Impedance of LC tank is infinite, thus
(i) Vout = Vin.
For inifinite impedance ,current will be zero.
(ii) I = 0.
This circuit results in a bandpass filter ,
whereas the series RLC circuit serves depending
point where output voltage is being taken
