Explanation / Answer

As y=mx+C

y=0.218x + 0.5037

y intercept = 1 / Vmax

1/vmax = 1/0.5037

= 1.985 mol/sec

Km= 1.985*.218

= 0.432

2. From the Lineweaver burk plot

As y=mx+C

y=0.0918x+ 0.7827

1/vmax = 1/0.7827

=1.277 mol/sec

Km= 1.277*.0918

= 0.025

3. Vmax stands for maximum velocity attained by an enzyme and Km stands for Michaelis constant. In both the graph , the substrate concentration is different, Hence we obtain two values of Vmax and Km.
