Question
i read these steps in my book to draw reciprocal lattice, but still i am unable to draw reciprocal lattice to any direct lattice, please help me,can you visualize these steps, i can't understanding
a reciprocal lattice to direct lattice is costructed by the method given below:
(1) take origin at some arbitrary point.
(2) from the origin draw perpendiculars to every set of parallel planes of direct lattice. the direction of perpendicular specifies the orientation of the plane and thus a two dimensional plane is represented by the normal drawn on it which has only one dimension.
(3) now take the length of each perpendicular equal to or 2 times the reciprocal of the interplanar spacing for the corresponding set of planes.
(4) the terminal points of theseperpendicular represent the reciprocal lattice to thse in the direct crystal lattice.
Explanation / Answer
Hi i have solved this question in my notebook, but i can't type it and post it here because there's no time... please rate me lifesaver and i'll make sure the answer is in your inbox! i don't do this generally but i am doing this due to lack of time...
