Aero- What equations do I use for #2 to calculate standard atmosphere pressure and density, Im not sure whether to use Hydrostatic Equation, or the integrated forms of that. Please Help!
See the two data sets below. These are actual measured meteorological data from Arizona. You'll notice the last column is pressure in millibars. One bar is 1X10 N/m2. You'll have to divide the temperature measurements by 10 to obtain temperature in K. The "station height" is the surface elevation above mean sea-level (MSL) from which measurements are made (one is 150 m. and the other is 230 m.) The "zone height" is the altitude above the staion height in meters. Your tasks: Use the equation of state for a perfect gas and R for air to compute the atmospheric density using measured pressure and temperature. Do this for all altitudes in the data files. 1. 2. Compute the standard atmosphere pressure, temperature and density in SI units at the same altitudes above MSL as in the data sets.Explanation / Answer
Integrated forms of hydrostatic equations are always used for calculating values which are in equations and variables. The basic hydrostatic equations can be used to derive the other variables which are numerical and constants.
