Question
For each of the following scenarios, name the type of genetic phenomenon being demonstrated:
A)An orange (OO) male mouse and a beige (oo) female mouse produce male offspring that are all orange and female offspring that are all beige.
B) Two gray (Bb) mice produce offspring in the following proportions: one-quarter black (BB), one-quarter white (bb), and one-half gray (Bb).
C) A furry (FF) male mouse and a furless (ff) female mouse produce all furless (Ff) F1 offspring. The F1 generation mate and produce all furry (FF, Ff, and ff) offspring.
D) Two red-eyed (Rr) mice produce offspring in a ratio of one black-eyed (rr) mouse for every two red-eyed (Rr) mice.
Explanation / Answer
A)An orange (OO) male mouse and a beige (oo) female mouse produce male offspring that are all orange and female offspring that are all beige.
The answer is X linked inheritacne.
As the X chromosome of mother, inherits to the male offspring, the male offspring exhibits the mother's phenotype.
B) Two gray (Bb) mice produce offspring in the following proportions: one-quarter black (BB), one-quarter white (bb), and one-half gray (Bb).
The answer is Incomplete dominance. In the presence of other allles, another allele failes to express dominantly.
C) A furry (FF) male mouse and a furless (ff) female mouse produce all furless (Ff) F1 offspring. The F1 generation mate and produce all furry (FF, Ff, and ff) offspring.
Please do verity the qeustion and repost it again.
D) Two red-eyed (Rr) mice produce offspring in a ratio of one black-eyed (rr) mouse for every two red-eyed (Rr) mice.
The amswer is lethal for Homozygous Red alleles. These will be aborted during embyrogenesis.
