Submit Answer Tries 0/8 Post Discussion Send Feedback

Explanation / Answer

m = 33.8 kg, theta = 21.4 deg

muk = 0.478, F = 326 N

Applying newtons second law

FN = m g + F sin theta

= (33.8 * 9.8) + (326 * sin 21.4) = 450 N

frictional force ff = muk FN = 0.478 * 450 = 215.2 N

x component of force exerted on crate

F cos theta - f = m a

a = [F cos theta - ff] / m

= [(326 * cos 21.4 - 215.2)] / 33.8

acceleration of the crate = 2.61 m/s2
