Question

What is the goal of our next lab? a To show that objects in free fall the heavier they are the faster they fall. Ob. To show that, while they accelerate at the same rate, ascending bodies will have a different acceleration than falling . To show that, when in free fall, heavy bodies accelerate the same as light ones. Od. To show that, when in free fall, bodies accelerate at an approximately constant e. Both (c) and (d) above are true. QUESTIO 2 points Save Answer In the first part of our LAB 03, which of the following will be a control variable? Oa. Mass Ob. nitial height and velocity of the falling ball Falling time and final acceleration eNone of the above

Explanation / Answer

Q1.

Acceleration in free fall = g = 9.8 m/s^2,

which means acceleration in free fall is same for each body, So we need to prove that acceleration is same for different bodies.

Correct option is E.

Q2.

Controled variable is kept same through out the experiment,

In these we need different bodies of mass, So it cannot be constant.

Also gravitational acceleration is always constant. So

Control Variables will be initial height and velocity of the falling ball

Since fall time and final velocity will depend on intial height and initial velocity so we cannot control them.

Which means correct option is B.
