The spring is now placed horizontally on a table and stretched 9 cm. (a) What force is required to stretch the spring by that amount? (b) Plot a graph of force (on the y-axis) versus spring displacement from the equilibrium position along the x-axis. (Do this on paper. Your instructor may ask you to turn in this graph.)Explanation / Answer
As per chegg guide line I am doing frist problem, kindly repost remianing questions
(a)amplitude is nothing but the maximum displacemnt from the mean position
A= 8.26 cm/2 = 4.13 cm
(b)
wavelength = 2 ( 5.20 cm) = 10.4 cm
(c)
T = 1/f = 1/14.5 =0.0689 s
(d)
speed of the wave is
v = lamda f = ( 10.4* 10^-2) ( 14.5 Hz)
=1.508 m/s
