Question
Applying the ratio of voltages and turns in the primary and secondary windings of a transformer, calculate the secondary voltage of a transformer that has 400 rounds in the primary and 900 rounds in the secundary . the applied voltage is of 50 volts of the effective voltage of CA
a. 102.5volts
b.122.5 volts.
c. 112.5 volts.
d.92.5volts
Explanation / Answer
Solution:
As we know;
The ratio of a transformer's output voltage (secondary voltage) to its input voltage(primary voltage) is equal to the
ratio of the transformer's output (secondary) turns to its input (primary) turns.
i.e,
Vs / Vp = Ns / Np
=> Vs = (900/400)*50
=> Vs = 112.5 Volts
