Question
E 500 N/C, what liegatively charged p s the acceleration on the particle due to the electric field Ie (q PHY 2054, Physics , ol0l 15pC) with a mass of 5.0 x 103 kg is placed in a uniform electric field a A) 0.02 m/s B) 0.75 m/s2 C) 2.2 m/s2 D) 0.5 m/s2 E) 1.5 m/s Uniform E Field 11) A hollow block of straight upward with a magnitude of E 200 N/C. What can we say concerning the charge on the surfaces of the pward with a m aluminum block and electric field inside the block? E field Top of Block Bottom of Block Inside Block (E Field) 200 N/C 0 N/C 200 N/C 0 N/C 200 N/C Top (charge) Positive Positive Positive Negative Negative Positive B) Negative Al Bock CPositive Positive D) otto NegativeExplanation / Answer
Solution:
10) Using F = q x E
=> m x a = q x E ( a is acceleration)
=> 5 x 10^-3 x a = 15 x 10^-6 x 500
=> a = 1.5 m/s^2
So option E is right
11) First of all as it is given the the block is of aluminum which is a conductor and inside a conductor electric field is zero N/C
So electric field is 0 N/C
Now as electric field is moving from bottom to top we can say bottom should be negative and top should be positive.
So option B is the right one
12) q1 and q2 will cancel each others electric field, so electric field will be only due to charge q3
Now , using the formula , E = k x q / r^2
=> E = 7.2 x 10^4 along -ve Y direction.
option E is right
