Explanation / Answer

Ans : He cannot be the father of cathy's daughter.

Since the red green color blindness in humans is caused by a X linked recessive gene, so the daughter to be color blind must have the recessive genes on both of her X chromosomes.

Now the John has normal vision , which means he does not possess the recessive gene on his X chromosome . So the daughter must have got one recessive gene from her mother ( who might be the carrier of the disease) , and the other recessive gene from the other man and not John.

The son might be that of john , as he has only one recessive gene , which is inherited from his mother.
