solution 2a.) Confined aquifers are the type of aquifers that are formed if purvious layer is found between impurvious layer. Water in these aquifers is subjected to additional confining pressure. Hence also referred as artesian aquifer.
Storage coefficient is the volume of water released from storage per unit decline in hydraulic head in the aquifer, per unit area of the aquifer. Storativity is a dimensionless quantity, and ranges between 0 and the effective porosity of the aquifer.
Specific yield is defined as the amount of water drained by the gravity to the total amount og medium drained.
In some cases impervious layer exist between pervious medium carrying the saturated solid mass that is referred perched aquifer. The corresponding water table is termed as perched Water Table.
