Question

The patella is the tip of the knee, the patellar ligament stretches from the patella down the lower leg. The quad ligament stretches from the patella up the upper leg.

For a given weight, Fw, applied at C in vertical direction, and for a given knee angle, alpha. find (assume that angle beta, and distances BA and LF are known) force in the quadriceps muscle - FQ reaction force at the knee ( between the femur and tibia) - FT compression force on the patella - Fp tension in the patellar ligament - FPL Assume that the patella has no size. The directions of forces FT and Fp are not known. If needed you may introduce more assumptions, but you will have to justify them.
