Question

A process engineer was about to recommend the purchase of equipment for a new manufacturing process for his employer. A vendor calling on him told him of a new and apparently cheaper means of accomplishing the same result. The engineer was familiar with the type of work in question but had never heard of the new process. The vendor invited him to go (at the vendor's expense) to several sites where the new process was being used. Should the engineer go to see the new process? At the vendor's expense? Which canons or rules have a bearing on the situation? If the engineer took the trip mentioned above and the vendor suggested an evening at a local night club to avoid the boredom of a hotel room (with the vendor picking up the night club tab), should the engineer accept or decline? Why or why not?

Explanation / Answer

1.Yes the engineer must visit the sites on vendor's expense as it will make him assure of product's quality as well he will be sure about the product..!! 2.Engineer should accept it..!! because vendor just want to give his thanks to the engineer so engineer should not refuse the offer..!!
