Question
The assumption in SP-a for a steam state after Cu tube charging of saturated vapor at 15 psig is incorrect. It was allowed because you didn't yet know how to evaluate a charging process. To correct this error, first assume that the supply upstream of the throttling valve does indeed contain 15 psig saturated vapor. Then assume that the tube is initially filled with saturated liquid at 15 psig when the charging process commences. Then assume that the final pressure will still be 15 psig. Finally, assume that the charging process occurs rapidly enough to make heat transfer negligible. Determine the final temperature (and quality, if appropriate) when the pressure inside the Cu tube is 15 psig. Report your answer in F. What mass of steam entered the tube during this charging process? Report your answer in lbm. What, if any, heat transfer is involved? Report your answer in Btu.Explanation / Answer
We need tube data for solution. please post again. :)
