Question
This is a Bucket truck with a boom completely extended horizontally over the outrigger.
I am trying to solve this system with 4 unknowns. R_o1 (Reaction force of outrigger 1) , R_w1 (Reaction force of wheel 2) , R_w2, R_o1. I am assuming both wheels and outrigger 2 can move freely in the x direction.
The force that I am primarily looking for is the reaction at outrigger 1 (R_o1). I found a system of equations but when I calculate these with an equation solver it turns out there is in infinium of solutions.
So then what method would I use to solve for R_o1?
Explanation / Answer
your method is correct, well your answer is coming infinite solutions, i think thats because sometimes when you solve your equations via a solver a matrix with non trivial solution comes into play..to avoid this do one thing, do not write so much of equations try to eliminate the variables which you don't want by substitution, this will help you reduce number of unknowns and you will get your answer :)
