Question
Arm AB rotates with an angular velocity of 25 rad/s counterclockwise. Knowing that the outer gear C is stationary, determine (a) the angular velocity of gear B , (b) the velocity of the gear tooth located at point D . Round your answers to two decimal places if needed
AB = 100 mm radius B = 50 mm
(a) ? B = rad/s
(b) Vd = m/s

Here one gear is enclosed in another & their velocities are in a ratio of radius. ie the ratio shall be 2p*100/2p*50 = 2 because for AB to rotate once the gear B shall have to rotate twice in respect to their different perimeters. and hence the angular velocity of B= 2*25= 50 rad/s and hence Vd= ?r= 50*(50/1000)= 2.5m/s
