Question
We are interested in designing a sequence recognizer using sequential circuits. In particular
we want to recognize the sequence 0010. The circuit has one input X and one output Z.
When the input sequence matches the given sequence the output Z produces a 1 otherwise it
remains at 0. The input X is coming out continuously without stop. You are required to do the
following
A. Create a state diagram with states A, B, C, D.
B. Draw the state table corresponding to the state diagram in part A similar to table
5.1 of the book.
C. Create a two-dimensional state table similar to Table 5.2 or Table 5.5 of the book.
D. Substitute the values 00 = A, 01 = B, 10 = C, 11 = D in the above state table and
draw it again (Should be similar to table 5.1).
E. Create a two-dimensional state table similar to Table 5.2 or Table 5.5 for the table
obtained in D.
F. Draw the state table by assigning 5-bit one Hot Codes to the states A, B, C, D
(Should be similar to table 5.1).
G. Draw the two dimensional state table by assigning 5-bit one Hot Codes to the
states A, B, C, D (should be similar to tables 5.2 and 5.5).
H. Draw the state table by assigning 5-bit one Cold Codes to the states A, B, C, D.
I. Try to find the equations for the Flip Flops from the state table obtained in part D.
J. Draw the sequential circuits from the equations you found in part I.
