You need to report your observations and understanding on: ( You should write 1 paragraph at least 5 sentences for each of the questions asked. ) 1. The importance of safety in power lab. Safety in a power lab ensures that the personal in the lab doesn’t get hurt. The the equipment don’t get damaged because of an unsafe act. An unsafe act don’t result in a financial liability for the lab.An unsafe act don’t result in damage beyond the labs confines and that it is the right thing to do. 2. The importance of proper sizing of electric equipment. Improper size can result in the motor not performing to its capabilities, It can damage the motor or pump, it can result in the motor not being mounted properly, damage to the motor and injury due to motor damage. 3. Steps you need to take in case of emergency. Next of kin is on your list to call at work, all emergency contacts are available to call, Emergency procedures has been reviewed, updated and revised if necessary, rehearse emergency actions and establish a rally point to account for all personal. 4. Your responsibility regarding you safety and your co-workers. Ensure that they wear all protective equipment, Ensure that all procedures are followed while working, Ensure that the work area is clean to avoid unsafe working conditions, Have a no horse play policy and talk to the employees about lessons learned regarding safety. 5. Describe proper clothing when elecrtci work is conducted. Wear Rubber gloves , Jacket and hood while Switching work is done., Wear the rated jacket while isolating or restoring equipment. Wear the hood to protect against flash, wear proper boots to prevent you going to ground and test the gloves at least semi annual. 6. Degrees of burns with electric power and the injuries. 1st degree, 2nd degree third degree and other burn s ,internal burn from electric switching. Most electrical burns will cook you from the inside out 7. What did you learn regarding safety at work, in the lab and protecting you and your co-workers. (most important part). That safety is everyone’s responsibility, That you should always discuss the job before starting to talk about the hazards. That severe damage can occur if an unsafe act is allowed to continue, Always take the extra time to think the job through and All accidents are preventable.
