Question

You will test this skill in this discussion forum that explores a hypothetical discovery of a brand new primate. I will leave out information about the locality to make things a little more interesting! The story: "A new primate species has been found! A report from the field group responsible for the find describes the primate to be medium in body size and to spend time both in the trees and on the ground. It is reported that both mal tan and red coloration. The anatomy of this new primate is unique in that it has a long, prehensile tail and arms that are longer than the legs. The anial also has average orbital size relative to it's body size and a long, snout. A larger throat sac was observed on both males and females. The locomotion style of this animal has yet to be fully documented. Fruit remains were dropped from one individual in a tree. A female of this new species showed to have prominent sexual swellings at the time of her sighting. Researchers hope to use genetic analyses to place this new species in a group with it's closest relatives very soon." Based on the story above, discuss what this primate might (and might not) be like. Think about your group characteristic chart and use this information to fill in the blanks. There is no goal or 100% correct identification of this fictitious species. Instead, use this hypothetical story to test your knowledge and that of your classmates. Have fun with this! es and females share the same
