Question
I am stuck on this problem, could use help please: Use the super mesh concept to find the power supplied by the2.2 voltage source: The equations I come up with are: Mesh 1: I1=-4.5A Mesh 2: 3I2+5+4(I2-I4)+2.2=0 Super mesh:9(I3-I1)+4(I4-I2)+7I4-3+3I3=0 My answer for I2 is -20.7A. This is leading me tothe wrong answer for the power source. Please double check myequations and let me know where my error is. Please include theequation that you are using to get the power supplied forthe 2.2 voltage source.Explanation / Answer
i1 = -4.5 A mesh 2: 3i2 + 5 + 4(i2 - i4) + 2.2 = 0 3i2 + 5 + 4i2 - 4i4 + 2.2 = 0 7i2- 4i4 =-7.2 (1) super mesh: 6i4 + i4 -3 + 3i3 + 9(i3 - (-4.5)) + 4(i4 - i2) =0 6i4 + i4 - 3 + 3i3 + 9i3 + 40.5 + 4i4 - 4i2 = 0 -4i2 + 12i3 + 11i4 =-37.5 (2) i4 + 2 = i3 -i3 + i4 =-2 (3) solving all 3 equation: i2 = -2058/725 i3 = -1693/1450 i4 = -4593/1450 current for 2.2 voltage source = i2 - i1 =2409/1450 p = vi = 2.2(2409/1450) = 3.66 W Please take time to rate my answer since it took me time toanswer your question.
