Question

I am designing a staorcase with 3 flights, one of the flights (the one in the middle) has a limited length of 5.25 m, if thw hight if must be 2 meters I would get 12 steps with a riser if 0.16 m and tread of 0.3m in this case there won't be enough length left fot the 2 landings (0.7m for each). so what shall I do? if I decrease the tread length to 0.27m it will be different from the other treads on the other flights, and the same thing applyes if I change the riser dimensions.

please help me I must submit my project tomorrow!

Explanation / Answer

Here is the three specifictions you can take as per your requirements:

1. Case 1

Length of staircase : 5.25 m

tread = 0.48m

rise = 0.2 m

no. of steps = 10

width you can to be 1m

2. Case 2

Length of staircase : 4.25 m

tread = 0.375m

rise = 0.2 m

no. of steps = 10

width you can to be 1m

3. Case 3

Length of staircase : 3.6 m

tread = 0.3m

rise = 0.2 m

no. of steps = 10

width you can to be 1m
