Question
A person lives in a house that has two rooms downstairs. The rooms are identical to one another. On a hot summer's day the person turns on a fan in a one of these rooms and then goes to work. The other room does not contain a fan. For security reasons all the doors and windows in both rooms are closed, and each room is very well insulated. When the person returns from work nine hours later will the room containing the fan be warmer or cooler than the room without the fan? You must provide a full explanation behind your choice.Explanation / Answer
Warmer because the fan hits the air and generates friction. Also the fan motor puts off heat because it is not 100% efficient. Bottom line is that the room with the fan will be warmer than the room that just sat. Good luck ~Wes
