Question

Air is drawn in from the outside through a blower, healed, and then flows steadily through a turbine to generate electricity as shown. If the turbine generates 100 kW of electric power. calculate the outlet velocity, u,. and temperature. T2. of the air. Assume that the air can be treated as a perfect and caloricaIly- perfect gas and that the flow properties are uniform across the inlet and outlet cross-sections. Away from the inlet, the ambient outdoor conditions are T0 = 10 degree C and rho0 =101.3 kPa. The outlet flow is at pressure, rho2 = 0.9p;. The blower work and heat flux are 8 kW and 18 kW, respectively, and the mass flow rate through the system is 15 kg/s. The inlet cross-sectional area is A. = 3.0 m2. while the outlet cross-section is A2 = 0.4 m2. The total drop in height from inlet to outlet is z1 - z2 = 6 m. Ignore all head losses.

Explanation / Answer

Hi I have done the solution for this in my notebook. But the solution is too big , I cannot type it here because very less time is remaining.. So please rate me Lifesaver and I'll share the answer with you through email or cramster inbox. I don't do this generally, but I have no other option here because there's very less time left... you need not worry as I have the solution ready
