Question
i wanted to solve the problem as following:q=(tg-ts)/(Rfin+Rgas)
Rfin=just like the solution says
Rgas(due to convection from gas to surface area of wall)=1/[(SA)(h)]
instead of going through the specifics i just want a conceptional question answered...
why do you not have to consider the resistance of the gas? I would think that the gas would have a convection resistance that would add to the resistance of fins but the solution ignores it :/
please answer if at all possible
thank you John Allen
