Question
Spent a while on this problem. Couldn't figure it out. Give me an explaination & answer please. Points go to the first right answer w/ explanation (not too much, just what you used).
I've already calculated:
v1=14V
v2=6V
Here's what I need to know:
Find the value of vab.
Find the value of vbc.
Find the value of vca.
Explanation / Answer
there is no current through 3 ohm resistor , hence potentail at a is same as the potentail across 7 ohm resistor .
Va = V1 =14 v
similarly there is no current through 4 ohm resistor , hence potentail at b is sam as voltage across
2 ohm resistor .
Vb = V2 =6 v
Vab = Va- Vb =14-6 = 8 v
b) potetail at c is zero ... that is Vc =0
hence Vbc = Vb- Vc = 6 v
3) Vca = Vc - Va = 0 -14 = -14 v
