Question
a) The figure shows the circuit diagram of an oscillator using an ideal voltage amplifier with amplification A. the values of the circuit components are, R1 = 580 ohms, R2 = 1000 ohms, L1 = 1.0 millihenry, L2 = 3.0 millihenry. Find The minimum value of A required to sustain oscillation of the circuit
b) The figure shows the circuit diagram of an oscillator using an ideal voltage amplifier with amplification A. the values of the circuit components are, R1 = 580 ohms, R2 = 1000 ohms, L1 = 1.0 millihenry, L2 = 3.0 millihenry. Find The frequency of oscillation in kHz
Explanation / Answer
let gain be A.
let oscillation frequency be f.
then as the amplifier is ideal,no current will entrer the amplifier.
lets voltage at +ve end of amplifier be V.
then Vo=A*V
so now applying KCL at +ve end,
V/(parallel of R1 and j*2*pi*f*L1) =(A-1)*V/(R2+j*2*pi*f*L2)
equating the real and imaginary part,
we get
2*pi*f=sqrt(R1*R2/L1*L2)
f=69.97 kHz (answer to part B)
and (A-1)*R1*L1=R1*L2+R2*L1
A=4.724 (answer to part A)
