Ancient Egyptians used to use a wheel on the end of a stick, as we see in the figure below, to measure large distances. Thus distances were measured in numbers of revolutions of the wheel. Would it be possible to evolve a number system based upon such a method of counting. Why or why not? If such a number system were developed, what would be the base? Why? If such a number system were developed, what kinds of problems might be encountered when converting to base 10, for example?Explanation / Answer
yes such a number system can be developed based on the circumference of the tyre.
the base will be 2 pi r . and we should make a standard wheel of radius r.
main roblem will be counting exact revolutions and also change in wheel radius with temprature. also it is slow and need more care
