Question

this is 2nd year course. also, please include all the steps please :) thanks!

Consider the following arrangement: With reference to the equations for impedance, describe whether you would use a resistor, a capacitor, or an inductor in the following two situations: (2 Marks) When you want to allow DC/very low frequency currents to pass into the circuit, but you want to stop very high frequency currents from entering the circuit (this is called "choking"). (2 Marks) When you want to allow very high frequency currents to enter the circuit, but you want to stop DC/very low frequency currents (this is called "blocking").

Explanation / Answer

for choking... we use inductor ... as inductor opposes the sudden changes in the current... for blocking .. of DC .. we use a capacitor ..as it stops the dc current and allows the ac current to pass thorough them ....
