The fusion protein glnA-lacZ is expressed in Gg medium but could effectively expressed in GNg medium.
The glnA-lacZ glnB3 mutant is weakly transcribed in both the Gg medium and GNg medium. This is because the gene glnB3 is a mutant used in the lab and the mutated gene inhibited the transcription of fusion protein and hence it is not expressed.
The glnA-lacZ glnB mutant is highly transcribed in both the Gg medium and GNg medium. This is because the gene glnB has no PII (transcription regulator ) activity. The absence of PII promotes transcription of fusion protein and hence it is effectively expressed.
The glnA-lacZ glnD mutant is not effectively transcribed in both the Gg medium and GNg medium. This is because the gene glnD has no UTase activity. The absence of UTase activity inhibited the transcription of fusion protein and hence it is not effectively expressed.
