My Notes O Ask You -4 ponts SerCp10 5P018 wi A man pushing a crate of mass m·92.0 kg at a speed of v-0.860 m/s encounters a rough horizontal surface of length t-o,65 m as in the f gun below ithe coefficient of kinetic friction between the crate and rough surface is 0.350 and he exerts a constant horizontal force of 285 N on the crate. 9. 0/4 submissions used : (a) Find the magnitude and direction of the net force on the crate while it is on the rough surface magnitude direction Select (b) Find the net work done on the crate while it is on the rough surface (c) Find the speed of the crate when it reaches the end of the rough surface m/s Need Help? Explanation / Answer

here,

mass , m = 92 kg

speed , v = 0.86 m/s

a)

the net force , Fn = applied force - uk * m * g

Fn = 285 - 0.35 * 92 * 9.81

Fn = - 30.9 N

the magnitude of net force is 30.9 N and direction is to the left

b)

the net work done , Wn = Fn * l

Wn = - 30.9 * 0.65 J

Wn = -20.1 J

c)

initial speed , u = 0.86 m/s

let the final speed of crate be v

the change in kinetic energy = work done

0.5 * m * ( v^2 - u^2) = Wn

0.5 * 92 * ( v^2 - 0.86^2) = - 20.1

solving for v

v= 0.55 m/s
